Same Day Appointments:
Timely Care When You Need It

Dental emergencies can cause significant discomfort and anxiety, and we believe that immediate attention is crucial in such situations. When you call our office, we will assess your emergency including if you are in pain and how long you’ve been in pain.

We will get you an appointment with our team either that very day or as soon as the emergency allows. Typically, an x-ray will be needed to fully assess the area in question and an appropriate treatment plan created. It is our goal to identify the source of the problem and treat the area as quickly as possible. Most treatments for an emergency can be started and even finished in the same day. If the emergency warrants medications first or would be ideally completed at a different time, our office will find an appointment that fits within your schedule.

Infected Tooth Extractions

One common dental emergency is an infected tooth that requires immediate attention. If you are experiencing severe tooth pain, swelling, or sensitivity, it could be a sign of an infected tooth. Ignoring or delaying treatment can lead to further complications and potentially affect your overall oral health. At Gower Family Dentistry, our skilled dentists are experienced in performing infected tooth extractions to alleviate pain and prevent the spread of infection. We utilize the latest techniques and technologies to ensure that the procedure is as comfortable and efficient as possible.

Rest assured that we will take the time to thoroughly explain the procedure, discuss your options for tooth replacement if necessary, and ensure your comfort throughout the process.

Dental emergencies cannot be fully predicted but many times a damaged tooth can be identified before it turns into an emergency. For example, teeth that are cracked, have unsealed fillings, or are associated with periodontal disease, will have signs pointing to an upcoming emergency. Routine dental visits are crucial to discovering these warning signs and making the patient aware of their dental situation. Developing a plan to treat damaged teeth before the emergency occurs is the best course of action, but simply making the patient aware of their dental status allows our team to make the patient a part of their dental and overall health.
